The General Federation of Women’s Club of Iron Mountain/Kingsford recently sponsored an autumn party for residents of Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation and their guests.
The Home Life Program of the club identifies issues that affect the well-being of the individuals, families and the community. Sponsoring area nursing home parties, including the V.A., are activities which are ongoing throughout the year within this program.
GFWC volunteers served the beautifully autumn-decorated cake with ice cream and treats to all attending.
Everyone enjoyed the afternoon with food, and musical entertainment by the Golden Throats with Lois Outcelt directing the group and Alyce Derwinski’s piano accompaniment. A variety of “oldies,” goodies and patriotic musical selections were sung by the group with the residents singing along.
