IRON MOUNTAIN The General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) of Iron Mountain-Kingsford recently sponsored a Halloween party for the residents of Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and their guests.
GFWC volunteers served the residents and guest a Halloween decorated cake, ice cream, coffee, and passed out treats to each resident and guest.
They enjoyed the afternoon with food and entertainment performed by the Golden Throats accompanied on the piano by Scott Furlow.
“A variety of musical selections were sung by the group with the residents singing along and tapping their fingers and feet to the familiar tunes,” said a spokesperson. “The afternoon was enjoyed by all.”

The Home Life Program of the club identifies issues that affect the well-being of individuals, families and the community.
Sponsoring the nursing home and Veterans Administration parties are one such activity which is ongoing throughout the year.
