The General Federation of Women’s Club of Iron Mountain-Kingsford sponsored a winter party for the residents at Hyland Assisted Living and Memory Care, along with their guests.
The Home Life Program of the club identifies issues that affect the well-being individuals, families and the community.
One service of the program is to sponsor nursing home parties in the area including the Oscar G. Johnson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iron Mountain throughout the year.
GFWC volunteers served the residents and guests winter decorated cupcakes and ice cream at the party. They all received a treat as well.
The afternoon was enjoyed by all with food, conversation and entertainment which was provided by Denyce Hansch, said a Home Life Program spokesperson.
She played the piano and lead the group in the singing of a variety of familiar show tunes. She encouraged the group to name the shows, which many did.
“Everyone had a good time on this beautiful sunny day,” she added.
