Prom Showcase a success

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Iron Mountain-Kingsford GFWC Women’s Club recently held their inaugural Prom Showcase at the Chippewa Club.

Participating merchants presented examples of the latest fashions for the 2015 prom season.

Julia Rose Creations provided the gowns, Hosking Hairlines and The Savage Mane created the hairstyles, Twisted Sisters designed the jewelry and Jackie Courney provided the make-up. PJ the DJ and Elite Limousine added to the afternoon event.

Area young ladies volunteered to model, which included Hannah Allen, Denae Brock, Annika Erickson, Teidra Fuson, Alena Herman, Vita Hill, Jaelyn Jennings, Jordan Kraemer, Donelle Kube, Amber Larson, Sidney Warren and Whitney Wender. They were escorted by tuxedo models Brady Erickson, Austin Guiliani, Jake LeFebvre, Nick Smith and Austin Stanchina.

“A grand time was had by everyone attending the show,” said Germaine Edwards, IM-K GFWC president,”

Music and dessert added to the festivities.

IM-K GFWC is already planning for next year’s second annual Prom Showcase 2016.

“The 2015 Prom Showcase is just one of many programs supported by the IM-K GFWC that target the needs of our communities,” stated Edwards.

Other community service projects promote support for the arts and museums, conservation of our natural resources, scholarships for continuing education, veterans and many quality-of-life issues addressed by area nursing homes and groups like BayCliff.
